Paso Robles

Our first stop was Paso Robles, where we were delighted to experience afternoon high temperatures in the upper eighties, which were a welcome change from the heat of Palm Springs and allowed us to enjoy our wine tastings outdoors. This wine region has become quite familiar to me in recent years, as it is a convenient stop on the way to just about anywhere in Central or Northern California, and so I have visited numerous times. I seem to find a new favorite winery each time I visit.

Unfortunately, I have no photos of the wineries we visited, but I do have a few of the wonderful RV Park (Sun Outdoor Central Coast Wine Country) where we have stayed a few times. I particularly like it because in addition to being neat and clean, there are plenty of mature trees and elevation changes so that it doesn’t feel like a big parking lot. There are also cottages available for friends who prefer not to travel via RV, an onsite bar and grill, and an event space which offers wine tastings on weekends.
