From Paso Robles, we headed to the Russian River Valley, a wine growing region that lies in Northern Sonoma County and Southern Mendocino County. In addition to being known for its many wineries, the area is also a popular destination for water-based recreation.
We stayed in an RV Park along the Russian River which provided very limited water access, unfortunately. However, we did spend time at a few wineries in the area, a particular favorite being Dry Creek Vineyards, whose wine club we ended up joining. They are highly regarded for their Zinfandel, but their Cabernet Franc was a delightful surprise.
